What happens to what you type
Last updated: 14 September 2026
In short
You do not need an account. We do not keep what you write. We do not sell anything about you to anyone.
What you type in the box
When you describe how you are doing, that text is sent to our servers and on to Anthropic, whose software reads it and decides which of our reviewed passages fits. It is used for that and nothing else.
Your words are not saved. Once the passage has been chosen, the text is gone from our side. What we keep is a short general label for the kind of situation, such as "job loss" or "medical diagnosis", with the date. Nothing that could point back to you, and never the sentence you wrote.
We keep those labels for one reason. This site only offers passages a person has reviewed and written up, and there are gaps. When the same label keeps arriving with no passage behind it, that tells us what to work on next.
Saved nudges
If you save a nudge it is stored in your own browser, on your own device. It never reaches us. The passage, its context and the reflection are saved; your original words and the themes we inferred are not. Clearing your browser data removes them, and so does the "clear all" button on the saved page.
Keeping the tool usable for everyone
So that one person cannot exhaust a free service, we count how many times a visitor uses the matching in a day. To do that without knowing who you are, your network address is turned into a scrambled code using a key that changes every day. We never store the address itself, and yesterday's codes cannot be linked to today's. If you reach the daily limit, the tool keeps working and keeps giving you Scripture.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand which pages are useful. They load only if you accept cookies, and not at all if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. Decline and no analytics run. You can change your choice at any time from the cookie settings link in the footer.
If you contact us
The contact form is handled by Netlify, which hosts this site. Netlify keeps the message and lets us know it has arrived, so we can reply. We keep it as long as we need to answer you.
Who else is involved
- Netlify hosts the site, processes ordinary web requests and receives contact form messages.
- Anthropic receives what you type, to match it to a passage.
- Google and Microsoft receive analytics data, only after you accept.
- Printify runs the shop. If you buy something, the order is placed on its store, not on this site, and its own privacy policy applies.
We do not sell or share your information for advertising.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.
Your rights
Because we hold no account and no record of what you wrote, there is usually nothing of yours for us to find, correct or delete. If you have contacted us by email and want that removed, ask and we will remove it. If you are in the UK, the EU or California, you have rights over personal data, and we hold very little to exercise them against.
Crisis resources
When what you write suggests you may be in danger, we show crisis contact details. That decision happens on our servers and, like everything else here, is not recorded against you.
Changes
If this changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be described here rather than quietly folded in.
