# Terms of use

In short

Bible Nudge is free to use. You can read it, share it and quote it with a link back. It is not professional advice, and it cannot respond to an emergency. By using the site you accept these terms; if you do not accept them, please do not use it.

## What this site is

Bible Nudge suggests one passage from the Bible for what somebody describes, with the verses around it and a note on why it may fit. It also publishes articles and topic pages built the same way. It is written by Cal Hewitt, as a reader of Scripture rather than as a pastor, theologian or scholar. There is no account to create, and nothing here is behind a payment.

## The Bible text on this site

The World English Bible is in the public domain, so its text is free for anyone to use, here or anywhere else. The King James Version is in the public domain in most of the world. In the United Kingdom its text is subject to rights held by the Crown, so if you are reproducing the King James at length there, check those rights separately.

## What you can do with our own writing

The articles, notes, reflections and design of this site are our own work. You are welcome to:

- read and print pages for your own use;
- send a page, or a link to it, to somebody who might need it;
- quote a short part of a page, with a link back to it.

Please ask before republishing whole articles, translating them, or using them in anything that is sold. [Get in touch](https://biblenudge.com/contact) and we will usually say yes.

## What the matching tool does, and what it does not

When you describe what you are carrying, software provided by Anthropic reads your words and chooses from a fixed set of passages that have been written up on this site. It can choose one that does not fit. A passage suggested for your situation is a place to start reading. It is not a statement about your circumstances, and it is not a claim about what God intends for you.

So that a free service stays usable for everybody, the tool has a daily limit per visitor. Please do not try to get around that limit, overload the site, collect its content automatically, or use it in a way that stops other people using it.

## Not advice, and not an emergency service

Nothing on this site is medical, psychological, legal, financial or pastoral advice, and nothing here replaces care from somebody qualified to give it. The site does not know who you are and cannot contact you or send help. If you or somebody else is in danger, call your local emergency number. The crisis contacts shown on this site belong to the organizations that run them, and we are not responsible for their services.

## Links to other sites

Articles link to charities, health services, published research and public forums, so you can check what a page says against its source. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, their availability or how they treat your data.

## The shop

Items in the Bible Nudge shop are sold through a store hosted by Printify. Orders, payment, delivery and returns happen on that store and are covered by its own terms and policies, not by this page.

## No guarantee

We work to keep this site accurate and available, and every quotation from Scripture is checked against its source text. Even so, the site is provided as it is and as available, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not promise that it will always be available, free of errors, or suitable for any particular purpose.

## Limits on liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Bible Nudge and the people who make it are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site, or from being unable to use it. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing here takes away rights you have as a consumer where you live.

## Where this sits

## Changes

If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them, and material changes will be described here rather than quietly folded in.
