Read the passage

# Psalm 147:3

World English Bible

He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds.

## What was happening around this

The psalmist praises Yahweh, who builds up Jerusalem and gathers Israel’s outcasts. Healing broken hearts is part of that praise rather than a promise made on its own.

Where this comes up

- [Bible verses for the loss of a parent](https://biblenudge.com/blog/bible-verses-for-the-loss-of-a-parent)

One passage for the death of a mother or father, the part of the psalm it belongs to, why Romans 8:28 lands badly this early, and what the bereaved say.

- [Short Bible verses for grief](https://biblenudge.com/blog/short-bible-verses-for-grief)

Six short passages, each one whole rather than trimmed, with what is around it. Includes the two that are usually cut in a way that changes what they say.
